Chihuahua Breaks World Record by Having 11 Puppies

Milly, the Chihuahua, has hardly grown since birth, however she has already earn herself a Guinness World Record.

The tiny puppy can be held in the palm of your hand and now she has officially gained the smallest dog in the world title.

Milly, who lives in Puerto Rico, is a teeny-weeny 9.65cm tall which is about the height of a iPhone. Milly had to be hand-reared because she couldn’t be fed normally.

“She could not breastfeed due to the tiny size of her mouth,” explained Rivera Eizzil. “To get an idea of just how petite she is, when she was born she received milk from an eyedropper.”

    I want this animal..like now 🙂

    • Lanell says:

I’m piggy backing off you since you’re at top. lol I’ve produce pups that were smaller than this. Paris Hilton mom has a dog over 10 months and just hit 1 lbs.. This dog isn’t close to being the smallest dog in the world, maybe the smallest dog submitted, but tines are very common.

  • Donna says:

    so cute

  • trisha says:

i have a chihuahua that is just under three pounds and 7.5 inches tall i live in ontario canada

  • karla says:

The owners need to use a leash when walking her so a hawk or eagle don’t swoop down and take her…..all it takes is one second.

  • sylvia martinez says:

i would love too have 1 like that where can i get 1?

  • Cheri says:

I have a Chihuahua that is 1 1/2 years old, and she weighs 2.8 pounds. I think they should weigh them when they are adults, not puppies, to determine if they are the “worlds smallest”. I got mine from the animal shelter. Not because I was looking for a tiny Chihuahua, but she was there and too small to stay there, so I brought her home as a foster, and she is still with me. I love her so much!!!!
    Chihuahua fan to the core!!!

  • Cathy says:

I have a chihuahua who is 4 years old and weighs 3.3 lbs

  • christy smith says:

  • Kay Dabney says:

She is SOOOO ADORABLE!!!! I’d feel MUCH better if she was on a leash though..a predator bird could just swoop down and grab her so quickly…PLEASE keep her safe….

  • Mabel Adams says:

We have 2 Chihuahuas,Angel is 9 yrs old weighs 6lbs 3ozs. Hunny Bunny is a teacup weighing 4lbs. She will be 2 in May.
We trained the teacup to go on the potty grass patch in the house. It’s washable. We also put dog harness on them when we leave the house, so big birds can’t get at them.
Hunny Bunny once fit in my hand at 6-8 weeks old.
Chihuahuas have been getting picked up by Hyenas in Florida. We have a private built in potty bin just outside our garage door and go outside with them, for safety precautions. They are too small to be left alone, Hawks, owls and other big birds can sweep them up if a giffy.
    Yours Truly Mabel Adams

Unfortunately, dogs this size are often the product of inbreeding. The dog’s face looks a bit deformed and dogs in this situation may have multiple health problems that will shorten their lives or cause pain. Also, it is easy prey for a variety of predators, including snakes, hawks, and other dogs. If a dog’s mouth is too small to nurse from it’s mother, something is wrong. Stop breeding and ruining this wonderful breed. It’s not a contest to breed until you have the smallest dog. Keep the dog’s needs and desires in mind, not your own. Get a 3″ stuffed dog if you want one that small.

    • Garcia says:

AMEN! I was hoping someone else was thinking that!

    • Pat reid says:

well said I total agree with all you have said Chihuahua’s that small need to be protected from hunting birds

    • Miryam says:

You are spot on. This breeding tiny dogs has caused a genetic disease called CM/SM. Chiari Malformation=CM. Syringomyelia=SM. A very painful disease with no cure and progressive. My little chi has this and its been horrendous watching a little dog you love have to be on a cocktail of drugs to keep the pain under control. When you breed dogs very small the skeleton shrinks down but the brain hasn’t caught up yet so a normal sized brain is crushed into a tiny skull. This causes the brain to protude out of the base of the skull. You can imagine what pain this would cause. Also the cerebrospinal fluid cannot wash over the brain and along the spinal cord properly because of the protuding brain. This then causes fluid filled sacs to grow inside the spinal cord. This causes more pain and a host of problems in extreme cases paralysis. So unti people stop demanding dogs the size of mice, many more dogs will suffer a painful short life. This disease affects most toy dogs such as chihuahuas, poms, yorkies, maltese terriers, griffons, cavaliers (research shows 70-80% of cavaliers have CM/SM).

The first day I had my 1.5 lb. little girl, she jumped off My husbands lap onto carpet and broke her front leg! It is not right to breed them so tiny. They also will have a soft spot on top of the head like a human infant, but it will always be there, never closing.

  • Anna says:

My partner “Bif”, was 3.5 lbs, 8 inches tall and 18 years old when he left me. 40 people helped me search for him, unsuccessfully. I now rely on his son Dexter, 3 lbs, 8 inch and certified as an emotional support dog. He is 8 years old and the Alpha male at my house.

  • ANN says:

IM LOOKING FOR A TEA CUP. THAT TAN OR BROWN. IM LOOKING FOR A DEER HEAD ONE?

  • Sandi says:

I have two Chihuahuas and they both are around 3.5 lbs. I thought they were small. Why would they let her walk without a leash don’t they know large birds could swoop down and snatch her.

  • Carrie says:

How do they base this on? I have a 2 year old chihuahua female that weights in at under 2 pounds.. And is the height of an iPhone 6 plus!!!

  • janiceshalabi says:

my meha was 1.75 full grown

  • Karen Gray says:
