It seems like Taco Bell isn’t the only company employing Chihuahuas for work…

Back in 2010, the police in Nara, Western Japan, recruited a Chihuahua to work as a police dog!

Momo, a 7-year old, long-haired Chihuahua passed a screening test along with 32 other canine candidates, by finding a hidden person in less than 5 minutes. The dog is being used in rescue efforts, and her tiny size carries huge advantages.

Momo was the first Chihuahua to join any Japanese police force in 50 years. Which makes us wonder… were Chihuahuas policing the streets in the 1950’s?
