As sweet as Chihuahuas are, they make terrible drivers.

That’s what Jason Martinez found out the hard way recently… when he left his vehicle and also his Chihuahua, Toby, for just a couple of minutes to go into a shop in Spokane, WA.

Martinez had no reason to believe his dog would like to drive, but for some reason, the car started moving down the street.

While this was occurring, Tabitha Ormaechea was stopped at a red light when Martinez’ car came out of nowhere and bumped into her car.

“When I looked up, there was no one in the car, just a little dog up on the steering wheel peeking over looking at me,” Ormaechea said. “I was shocked, I didn’t know if I was crazy, or if this little dog had taken a joy ride.”

Martinez was as well shocked by what his dog did.

“I didn’t know what to think. Someone just ran into the store and asked if anyone has a gold car and I said, ‘Yeah, me. Why?’” he said, adding “[Toby] must have knocked it out of gear and the car rolled out.”

No one was hurt by Toby the Chihuahua’s crazy drive and the damage to Ormaechea’s car was minimal.
